The 2026 North American Open lived up to its billing as one of the most anticipated stops on the SDA Pro Tour, delivering high-caliber squash across three of Greenwich’s premier clubs: the Field Club of Greenwich, Round Hill Club, and Greenwich Country Club. With an prize purse of $50,000 for the men and $15,000 for the women, the event was title-sponsored by NTC Group, Saratoga Investment Group, and Lexington Partners and once again attracted the sport’s top talent for a weekend of fast-paced action.
In the women’s event, No. 1 seeds Kayley Leonard and Maria Elena Ubina returned to home soil as the top seeds and crowd favorites. Seeded to face second seeds Georgina Stoker and Nikki Todd, the draw played out as predicted and set up a highly anticipated rematch of the MFS Boston ProAm final, where Leonard and Ubina had stormed back from 2–0 and 7–1 down to take the title.
Before the final showdown, the draw featured a standout opening round battle of youth versus experience. New talents Lujan Palacios (Trinity) and Meagan Best (UVA) pushed veterans Kelsey Engman and Steph Hewitt to five games in an impressive debut performance and in the quarterfinals, Lily Taylor and Julia Le Coq gave third seeds Katie Tutrone and Line Hansen a stern test in a competitive four-game match, highlighting the growing depth on the women’s side. Meanwhile, with the withdrawal of Meredith Quick and Suzie Pierrepont, Rachel Mashek and Olivia Walsh were elevated to the fourth seed and justified their seeding with a decisive 3–0 win over former Round Hill pro Audrey Berling and partner Ineta Hopton.
The final was another instant classic in the budding rivalry between Leonard/Ubina and Stoker/Todd. The top seeds dominated early, taking the first game with ease and edging a tighter second to go up 2–0. But Stoker and Todd roared back in the third and fourth, swinging the momentum in their favor and forcing a fifth. Leonard and Ubina responded with a strong start in the decider, building a 7–2 lead, but Stoker and Todd clawed their way back, pushing the match to 14-all. In fitting fashion, it was Todd’s crisp straight drop that sealed the upset, giving Stoker and Todd the title in a dramatic 15–14 fifth-game finish. The win marks Stoker’s third title of the season and the second for the Stoker/Todd partnership. Leonard has now reached every final this season, winning three titles (two with Ubina) highlighting her consistency at the top of the tour.
The men’s draw featured a much-anticipated clash between the undefeated top seeds Chris Callis and Sam Khalifa and second seeds Zac Alexander and Cameron Pilley (two former PSA stars) competing in only their second event together as a team. Callis and Khalifa have been the dominant force on the men’s tour this season, and their chemistry was on full display as they took the first two games with sharp execution and seamless communication. But Alexander and Pilley showed their potential in the third, jumping out to a 9–5 lead before closing it 15–13 with dynamic shot-making and improved positioning. The fourth, however, was a reminder of why Callis and Khalifa remain undefeated. They raced to a 6–1 lead and never looked back, shutting down any comeback hopes and securing the title with a 3–1 win. It was a composed and clinical performance from the top seeds, who now extend their perfect record to six titles this season.
A notable round of 16 match saw Westchester-based pros Sergio Martin (Apawamis) and Khamal Cumberbatch (Westchester Country Club) push fourth seeds Colin West and Scott Arnold in a tight 3–1 battle. Martin and Cumberbatch took the second game comfortably and held leads of 11–8 and 12–11 in the third. The sense from the crowd was clear: if the younger pair were going to pull off the upset, they needed that third game. But the veteran duo of West and Arnold held firm, closing out the third and carrying the momentum into the fourth to take the match, much to the frustration of the promising young pair, who left a strong impression despite the loss.
A men’s quarterfinal highlight came in a seesaw battle between third seeds Ashley Davies and Matt Henderson and the rising team of Daelum Mawji and Charles Culhane. After splitting the first two games, Davies and Henderson squandered a 13–6 lead in the third, ultimately losing it 15–13 as Culhane rattled off multiple reverse-angle. The third-seeded pair responded with a dominant fourth to push a decider, where they gained control at 7-all and never looked back. Mawji and Culhane continued to impress despite the loss, proving they are a team on the rise in the men’s field.
