The SDA Tour continued its spring swing with a $30,000 event at the Tavern Club in Cleveland, Ohio, drawing a packed and enthusiastic crowd. The tournament used 11-point scoring, creating fast-paced, high-energy matches that kept club members engaged throughout the weekend. Top seeds Ashley Davies and Jim Bamber lived up to their billing, navigating a challenging draw to take the title. The win marked Bamber’s third of the season and gave Davies his first career SDA title, lifting him to a personal best ranking of World No. 13.

Davies and Bamber overcame the surprise team of Sergio Martin and Khamal Cumberbatch in the semifinals. Martin and Cumberbatch, who had earlier stunned Canadian pair Justin Todd and Cole Osborne, pushed the top seeds but couldn’t pull off another upset. On the bottom half of the draw, second seeds John Russell and Matt Henderson were edged out in a tight five-game battle by Clinton Leeuw and Jaymie Haycocks in one of the most competitive matches of the tournament.

The combination of 11-point scoring, an intimate venue, and a lively home crowd made for an electric atmosphere at the Tavern Club, with the quick-fire format delivering non-stop action. The result cements Bamber’s place as one of the most consistent performers on tour this season and marks a breakthrough performance for Davies as he continues his rise up the rankings.
