Elani & Lume Landman upset the number one seeds to capture the 2022 New York City Open title without dropping a game at the University Club of New York, November 11-13

South Africans Landman & Landman opened up their tournament with a 15-6, 15-13, 15-11 quarterfinal win over English team Lauren West & Tina Rix. The two-seeds continued their momentum in the semifinal against Julie Cerullo and Victoria Simmonds, advancing to the final with a 15-12, 15-5, 15-7 win over the four-seed team.

In the top half of the draw, top seeds Kayley Leonard & Maria Elena Ubina secured a 15-6, 15-13, 15-11 win over qualifiers Habiba Mohamed and Nicole Kendall to proceed to the semifinals. Former world No.1 Nikole Todd & Harvard graduate Katie Tutrone secured their spot in the second semi with an upset over three-seeds Georgina Stoker & Celia Pashley, 15-14, 15-8, 15-13.

The second semifinal of Saturday night saw the only match of the tournament to push past three games, with first-time partners Todd & Tutrone making a strong start to take the first 15-11. A determined Leonard & Ubina pushed through a neck and neck second game, clinching a 15-12 win to even out the score. Another close game saw Leonard & Ubina come out on top again, this time at 15-13, before taking the fourth game 15-8 to move on to the final.

The Sunday final set up an exciting rematch of the Heights Casino Open final between the top two seeds, this time with Landman & Landman reversing the result to secure their victory with a close 3-0 win over Leonard & Ubina, 15-10, 15-13, 15-14.
