Playing on The SDA Pro Tour
Welcome to the SDA. We are very glad you are here and hope you are excited to compete! To get you started in your SDA career, here is our Tour Guide ,which outlines the SDA Pro Tour rules you agree to upon joining.
We are sure you will find the time to read through the guide in due time but for now, here are the cliff notes (the full explanations can be found in the tour guide):
- Please check that all information in your Club Locker account is current. Correct email, phone number, etc.
- Email is the primary method of communication for the SDA so please be sure to check your inbox prior to an event and during.
- You will enter events via Club Locker. Please put in the correct contact information for you and your partner. The email address you provide is how we will contact you both about the event. When entering you will be asked if you want to pay for both of you, select yes, there is not an actual charge and this will allow you to move onto the next page.
- When you enter an event you will be added to the entry list. Depending on the draw size and the number of entries you may be on the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist you will contacted if a spot in the draw becomes available. If you are no longer available to play in the event then the spot will get offered to the next team on the list.
- If you enter an event and you are not on the waitlist you will be included in the draw. You have 48 hours after entries close to withdraw without penalty if you cannot play. Please email Suzie if you need to withdraw.
- Everyone in an event is expected to referee. You will usually referee the match after yours, unless you are the last scheduled match in which case you will referee the first scheduled match.
- Unfortunately, in the interest of fairness to all players, we are not able to accommodate requests for specific match times. If the schedule is an issue you may need to assess if it is the right event for you.
- You are expected to know the rules of the game and how to referee properly (click here for more help on refereeing). If you do not feel confident in this or you have questions, please let me know.
- Teams must be matching and tops must be contrasting to your opponents. The higher seeded team gets to pick their color first, but communicate with your opponents AHEAD of time.
- All dress codes from the host club MUST be followed.
- When you enter an event you also agree to participate in the ProAm if needed.
- Players should NOT communicate with tournament directors ahead of an event. If you have questions or an issue arises you should contact Suzie.
- Prize money is paid to full members electronically via bill.com by the SDA. The SDA has to receive the money from the event before it gets paid to the players. If you are a playing member you will not receive prize money until you upgrade your membership. The upgrade must occur before the event concludes.
