Gary Waite is one of the founding fathers of professional squash doubles and ranks second all-time in SDA titles. A dominant left-wall player from the late 1990s through the 2000s, Waite was ranked World No. 1 for fourteen consecutive years. Partnering with Mark Talbott, Jamie Bentley, and most famously Damien Mudge, Waite was virtually invincible on the doubles court — winning ten Johnsons, ten North American Opens, three Cambridge Club titles, four World Doubles Championships, and three World Mixed titles. In 2000, Waite and James Hewitt co-founded the ISDA, the precursor to today's SDA Pro Tour.
