The Men’s Pittsburgh Open made a successful return this season with elevated status and a $20,000 prize purse, delivering a competitive week of professional doubles at the Pittsburgh Golf Club. With the late withdrawal of John Russell and Jaymie Haycocks due to injury, top seed duties fell to Lucas Rousselet and Yash Bhargava, who entered the event as the pair to beat. The draw opened up early when second seeds Justin Todd and Ryan Picken suffered a first-round loss to James Wyatt and Rahul Sehrawat, paving the way for third seeds Cole Osborne and Griffin Manley to capitalize and ultimately claim the title. Bhargava and Rousselet were tested heavily in the quarterfinals, saving a fourth-game match ball against Josh Kay and Jackson Kay in what proved to be the match of the tournament, before advancing past Henry Parkhurst and Jacob Bassil in the semifinals. The final swung decisively in favor of Osborne and Manley, as Bhargava appeared hampered by illness, allowing the third seeds to close out a memorable victory. The result marked a milestone moment for Canadian doubles, with Manley, a senior at Western University, becoming the youngest player to win a full SDA event, following Josh Kay’s breakthrough Challenger win in Toronto last season, a promising sign for the next generation on the tour.
