For the third consecutive year, the Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, IL, hosted its eagerly awaited $15,000 mixed pro squash event, attracting top-tier talent and lively crowds. With a rich history of squash excellence, including hosting the 2015 Doubles World Championships, Onwentsia continues to enhance its legacy under the leadership of head pro Dan Sibley. Strong member involvement in the pro-am, combined with an active and supportive community, created a fun and energetic atmosphere throughout the event.

The tournament kicked off with long and intense first-round matches, including a nail-biting five-game showdown between brother-sister duo Amelia and Liam Knapp, who narrowly defeated Billy Berner and Gabby Garr. Another five-game thriller saw Jackie Moss and Robert Birrell edge out tour newcomers Lily Taylor and Khumal Cumberbatch. Interestingly, both Taylor and Cumberbatch currently work for former Onwentsia head pro Aidan Harrison at Westchester Country Club, and they enjoyed local support from the crowd.

As the competition advanced, the semifinals were more straightforward, with the top seeds winning in straight games. However, the final proved to be a riveting back-and-forth contest. Top seeds Adam Bews and Suzie Pierrepont took the first game, but second seeds Josh Hughes and Jess Davis stormed back, dominating the second game and much of the third. Bews and Pierrepont then turned the tide, upping their pace and pushing Hughes and Davis deeper into the court. Ultimately, Bews and Pierrepont secured the victory, with Pierrepont defending her 2023 title. For Hughes and Davis, this marked their first appearance in a final, signaling bright futures ahead.
